Fieldwork creates the foundation of our reason of being. And when that fieldwork can be free from commercial sponsors or government agencies, the purest and most just fieldwork can be achieved. This is why we do not perform fieldwork as client work, but rather the fieldwork is done out of our own interest alone, and partners can leverage what we have already gathered, experimented, and ideated thereafter.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
As a community engagement and service initiative, we are researching and developing matsuri. Matsuri is not an event or festival. It is a deeply rooted and laborious community operation that is fueled by the people, and propelled for the people. The intention of this initiative is to leverage our everyday fieldwork of heritage materials and techniques to create a new matsuri together that carries the depth and value required to be loved and celebrated by local community for generations to come.
